Melissa Owens

A LBVBC alumna, Coach Melissa Owens has joined the list of many other former players who have been drawn back to the Laguna Family to provide insight and training to young players.  

Coach Melissa graduated from Capistrano Valley High School after transferring from Aliso Niguel High School.  While playing for Capistrano Valley she garnered CIF Honorable Mention honors and ranked second on her team in blocks and kills.  At Aliso Niguel, Coach Melissa was a two-time All-League honoree.  Upon graduating from high school, Coach Melissa attended and competed for the Aggies of Utah State on full scholarship.  She later transferred to BYU - Idaho where she served as both a player and coach for its club team.  While at BYU - Idaho Coach Melissa was named to the All-Star Team. 

Currently, Coach Melissa coaches at St. Mary's in Aliso Niguel.  Prior to that she was a coach with the USYVL (2011-2013) where she worked to introduce young players to the great sport of volleyball.
