Kevin Hodge

Coach Kevin Hodge returns for his fourth season with LBVBC.  Drawing from a wealth of experience as both a coach and a player, Coach Kevin brings a great understanding of the game and desire to train players in the proper fundamentals of volleyball.  For more than a decade he has dedicated himself to teaching players to appreciate the game and work to become the best players that they can be.

A Nittany Lion through and through, Coach Kevin attended and competed for Penn State University (1998-2002).  During his time there he was named to the EIVA All-Tournament Team (2001) and helped guide his team to four consecutive Final Four appearances.  Upon finishing his eligibility, Coach Kevin joined the Women's Volleyball Program at Penn State as a Volunteer Assistant Coach (2003-2005) to learn from one of volleyball's legendary coaches, Russ Rose.  During his three seasons with the Lady Nittany Lions the team won three Big Ten Conference Titles (2003, 2004, 2005).  From there Coach Kevin went on to assist the Women's Volleyball Team at the University of Cincinnati (2006).

While in Cincinnati Coach Kevin also coached club volleyball at Team Z (2007-2008), guiding his team to a 3rd place finish at the inaugural JVDA Tournament.  He then moved out to Southern California, coaching at a few clubs before finding his home here at LBVBC.  Laguna's reputation for training well-rounded, knowledgeable, respectful athletes and its familial environment appealed to his own coaching philosophies.  

For the past three years Coach Kevin has spent time coaching at every ability and age level from the 18-1's to LBVBC's introductory clinics.  This past season his 15-1's won the Pacific Northwest Qualifier, placed 2nd at the SCVA Junior National Qualifier, and qualified for the Open Division at the USA Junior National Tournament.  He also assisted Coach Michael Soylular with the 18-1's team which also qualified for the Open Division of the Junior National Tourament.

In addition to coaching at LBVBC, Coach Kevin is also the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach at Saddleback College.
